Events often come with a big carbon footprint and here at LOFA we are conscious of the environmental impact of our SOLEX event.
The events industry is a major source of carbon emissions. Not only does an event itself contribute to emissions through catering, the powering of the space and more, but associated emissions such as travel to and from the event can add up to hundreds or even thousands of tonnes of carbon emissions in a short space of time. As event organisers, it is time for us all to take responsibility for these emissions and work to do something about them.
So this year we will be starting on the journey with the help of Planet Mark to make SOLEX 22 a carbon neutral or at the very least carbon offset travel event.
This will mean we have to do some data gathering before, during and after the event, but I am sure it will be worth it if we can help reduce our carbon footprints as well as enjoying what’s on offer at SOLEX.
View our Partnership Certification Report pdf for more information.
Some of our LOFA members who will be attending the show have already started to think about how they can make their businesses more sustainable and offer more environmentally friendly products to the industry, they will be available to chat about all these products and initiatives at SOLEX 22.
Planet Mark and the RSPB will also be on hand at SOLEX 22 to talk to exhibitors and visitors alike about their initiatives and how to get involved.
